Council Member Courtney Hohl has announced her resignation from the Bee Cave City Council, effective December 13, 2024, due to a difficult year personally, following the death of her mother after a prolonged illness.
"Losing a loved one puts life into perspective and forces a reckoning of priorities. Working full-time, raising two children and serving on the city council has not left any space to grieve the loss of my mother. Now is the time for me to prioritize my family and my own grief process. After reflection on my current personal, professional, and family responsibilities, I have decided to step down from my position on the Bee Cave City Council. I want to thank my fellow council members, city staff, and the residents of Bee Cave for their support and collaboration. I am grateful for the lessons I have learned and the friends I have made over these past five years of service to Bee Cave. I am hopeful the city council and staff will continue to make progress toward a stronger, more prosperous community,” Council Member Hohl said in a statement.
The City of Bee Cave will hold an election in May 2025 to fill this vacant seat. The Bee Cave City Charter gives the council the ability to appoint someone to fill the vacancy until the election, but no appointments have been made at this time.
