On April 1, 2014, the City of Bee Cave Planned & Development and Engineering Departments jointly launched a new online permitting software called My Government Online (also known as My Permit Now). The software provides the ability to submit and pay for all Subdivision, Zoning, Engineering, Building, Signage and Special Events permits and applications online. Applicants are able to track the progress of the plan review process, upload construction drawings and plans, view the required inspection sequence for a project, and request inspections online all from the convenience of an office or home computer. In addition, the new software provides real-time inspection results via e-mail, automated telephone calls, and the online portal at www.mygovernmentonline.org

If you already have a My Government Online account that you use with another city, there is no need to sign up again. However, if you are new to the software, we encourage to set up a free account at www.mygovernmentonline.org.

Yes. Effective April 1, 2014, all applications must be submitted via MyGovernmentOnline.org. Registration is free. The Planning and Development Department has an application station for those that do not have ready access to a computer or would like a tutorial on how to navigate the site. Please bring a CD or flash drive with .pdfs of your application materials with you. We are not equipped to scan hard copy files.
All applications received prior to launching My Government Online will follow the process in effect at the time of submission: Plan review comments will be sent via email, comment responses must be dropped off in person, payments must be made in person or over the phone, permit cards must be displayed on the job site, and inspections must be scheduled either via e-mail or via voicemail 512.767.6676.

For applications submitted AFTER April 1, 2014, all inspections must be scheduled AND cancelled through the Customer Portal on MyGovernmentOnline.org. To cancel an inspection, call Darlene French at 512.767.6675.
For applications submitted AFTER April 1, 2014, no, you do not need to post your permit at the job site. The inspector will have your permit information, plans, and inspection history on his mobile device. For applications submitted BEFORE April 1, 2014, yes, you will still need to display the yellow permit placard.

One of three ways: you can opt to receive a real-time email notification, opt in to receive a real-time automated phone call, and/or log into the MyGovernmentOnline.org customer portal. We strongly urge you to select to receive notifications via email. The phone notification option will not leave a voicemail and some users have found the volume of phone calls to be intrusive in instances where they are assigned as the contact on multiple projects--you will receive a separate call for every inspection on every job.
